3 small steps you can take today to treat yourself better
The relationship with yourself is built like any relationship — in small daily gestures, not declarations. Three that fit into today.

You cannot decide to respect yourself the way you decide to buy a coat. But you can act, today, in three small ways that relationships are actually made of:
- Catch one harsh sentence and translate it. When "how could I be so stupid" appears, re-say it the way you would to a friend: "I made a mistake, and I was tired." One translation a day is enough — you are training a muscle, not passing an exam.
- Keep one small promise to yourself. The ten-minute walk, the glass of water, going to bed at eleven — choose the smallest one and keep it like you keep promises to others. Self-trust is built from kept promises; size doesn't matter, keeping does.
- Accept one thing today without earning it. Sit down with the tea while it is hot. Take the longer, prettier route. Let someone help you and say only "thank you". Notice the reflex to justify it — and skip the justification.
Three gestures, one day. Repeated for a month, they change the tone of the inner voice more than any resolution written in January.
