A therapist needs her own therapy
To hold light for someone else, you first have to face your own darkness. Every therapist should go through the process herself, and the therapy room is the client's safest space, not a place to test out talent.

“Spirituality” is an easy word to sell and an easy word to abuse. In this LaGrace Podcast, spiritual therapist Elnara Qurbanova, speaking from Bali, keeps it grounded: real therapy doesn't calm you down, it confronts you with what you've been avoiding, and anyone who promises that one purchase or one meditation will fix your life is selling manipulation, not healing.
It's a clear-eyed conversation about energy that pools where words go unspoken, about trauma that lives in the nervous system, about the retreat as a return to yourself, and about the hardest truth of all: you carry your whole suitcase of problems with you, wherever you move.
To hold light for someone else, you first have to face your own darkness. Every therapist should go through the process herself, and the therapy room is the client's safest space, not a place to test out talent.
If therapy only calms you, it isn't therapy, it's an escape. Real work brings you face to face with what you'd rather not see; the resistance and discomfort are part of a healthy process, not a sign it's failing.
Live long enough with a belief like “I'm not worthy of love” and you stop the flow of that very energy in your life. Feelings you can't express pool up, and over years the body starts to answer for what the voice never said.
Trauma starts in the nervous system, so meditation alone can't resolve it, it's a supporting tool. Anyone who tells you a single practice will clear everything is manipulating you.
Decide, truly, that you will change, and the openings and the people start to appear. A retreat can be the beginning of that shift, but it's a starting point, never a magic three-day fix.
“I need no help, I'll do it all myself” runs against a woman's nature, and sooner or later the body sends the bill. Women need a circle, time alone with their own voice, and permission to slow down.
Move to another country as an escape and your whole suitcase of problems travels with you. Without inner work, what you ran from is still in your mind when you land, because you brought it.
You don't choose Bali, Bali chooses you. The island has its own flow you can't rush or bend, and it confronts you with everything you're running from, which is exactly why it isn't for everyone.
“If therapy only soothes you, that's not therapy, it's an escape.”
“You don't choose Bali, Bali chooses you.”
“Your problems, your pain, all of it comes with you in the same suitcase.”
“Inside every woman there's the power of rebirth, she burns, turns to ash, and is born again.”
